Fagor Appliances, in collaboration with IKERLAN-IK4, is developing a management system that optimizes household electrical energy consumption.

Solution provided

The CENIT Active Demand Management Project concerned the development of a load controller on a miniaturized embedded hardware platform based on BPL power line communications (broadband up to 100 MBits). Of special interest is its modular design concept, which provides a solution to the different configurations that are in demand. As part of the same line, a component has been developed to monitor the individual consumption of appliances in a local environment. This component communicates wirelessly with a consumption monitor, which centralizes the consumption measurements for the different household appliances.
