ETIC was considering a project to power embedded systems using solar panels. They needed to increase their know-how in this field and measure the true performance of this type of system.

Solution provided

A system was developed based on a CompactDAQ from National Instruments, programmed with Labview. The system makes it possible to accurately measure the most important parameters, such as power generated, power consumed, power going towards or leaving the battery, etc. All this information is stored on a laptop computer, capable of autonomous operation over long periods of time, in order to see the evolution of the long term.

Advantages

• Labview programming and the use of cDAQ modules with integrated signal conditioning made it possible to shorten development times. The system enables exporting data to Excel for subsequent analysis.
